794544 2009-07-23 09:06:00 I said to uninstall Advanced systemcare in the last thread you posted

How much ram is installed?
Speedy Gonzales (78)
794545 2009-07-23 09:21:00 I did uninstall it in add / remove programmes - is it still there? How can I get rid of it now?
It says 1Gb of RAM but I think there is extra ram installed in another place. ok there is local disk E which says 1G and local disk C which says 1 G and C Part 2 that says 1 G.
It is a few years old now ... is it just too slow?
Many thanks once again - you certainly are speedy :) Like an internet superhero :)

794546 2009-07-23 09:30:00 By the looks of it, its still installed. Tick these then tick fix checked

Close browsers

C:\Program Files\IObit\Advanced SystemCare 3\AWC.exe

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Advanced SystemCare 3] "C:\Program Files\IObit\Advanced SystemCare 3\AWC.exe" /startup

See if the folder for this is on your hdd. If it is, delete it, then run ccleaner, or glary utils. Do a registry scan then remove whatever comes up.

Have you defragged the hdd recently?
Speedy Gonzales (78)
794547 2009-07-23 10:19:00 I keep getting a pop p window for that iobit - I was quite confused as to where it came from. I will go do these things - you probably won't hear from me for a while :) Thankyou for your advice and sorry to be such a pain! kako (15110)
794548 2009-07-23 10:35:00 I found the folder in program files - it has lots of little icons - I found one that looked like uninstall but when I pressed it it said it couldn't do it as the application was being used by something else - I am in the folder now. When I logged in earlier today an iobit window popped up asking me to download an update it had virus scanner line on it so I clicked it and a yahoo search window came up saying spyware remover but then minimised down the bottom of the screen and I can't open it or close it down. It is completely unresponsive.
I am not clear on what to do first - if I click fix in hijack will this completely remove it or will the folder still be there? I'm not clear on whether to delete first or to click fixed.
kako (15110)
794549 2009-07-23 10:49:00 If the folder is still there and there's files in it (inc the exe file for it) you havent uninstalled it properly . If theres an uninstall file in it run it, close the window .

And make sure its not running in the taskbar / in task manager .
Speedy Gonzales (78)
794550 2009-07-23 10:59:00 Nope says it doesn't have a program associated with it to run the command and I got an error 32 when I pressed on another item. kako (15110)
794551 2009-07-23 11:14:00 Delete its entries from startup, use ccleaner. Delete its folder/s. Use ccleaner's registry tab, so a scan remove the rest of it.

Not much else you can do if it wont uninstall (if its still installed)
Speedy Gonzales (78)
794552 2009-07-23 11:58:00 Think I am finally rid of it.The uninstall programme finally worked but there were still 3 files left so I deleted them manually. I then ran Glary and fixed up the problems that it showed and this is the latest hijack this scan :)
