2009-07-23 09:06:00 | I said to uninstall Advanced systemcare in the last thread you posted How much ram is installed?

2009-07-23 09:21:00 | I did uninstall it in add / remove programmes - is it still there? How can I get rid of it now? It says 1Gb of RAM but I think there is extra ram installed in another place. ok there is local disk E which says 1G and local disk C which says 1 G and C Part 2 that says 1 G. It is a few years old now ... is it just too slow? Many thanks once again - you certainly are speedy :) Like an internet superhero :)

2009-07-23 09:30:00 | By the looks of it, its still installed. Tick these then tick fix checked Close browsers C:\Program Files\IObit\Advanced SystemCare 3\AWC.exe O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Advanced SystemCare 3] "C:\Program Files\IObit\Advanced SystemCare 3\AWC.exe" /startup See if the folder for this is on your hdd. If it is, delete it, then run ccleaner, or glary utils. Do a registry scan then remove whatever comes up. Have you defragged the hdd recently?

2009-07-23 10:19:00 | I keep getting a pop p window for that iobit - I was quite confused as to where it came from. I will go do these things - you probably won't hear from me for a while :) Thankyou for your advice and sorry to be such a pain! | kako (15110) | |
2009-07-23 10:35:00 | I found the folder in program files - it has lots of little icons - I found one that looked like uninstall but when I pressed it it said it couldn't do it as the application was being used by something else - I am in the folder now. When I logged in earlier today an iobit window popped up asking me to download an update it had virus scanner line on it so I clicked it and a yahoo search window came up saying spyware remover but then minimised down the bottom of the screen and I can't open it or close it down. It is completely unresponsive. I am not clear on what to do first - if I click fix in hijack will this completely remove it or will the folder still be there? I'm not clear on whether to delete first or to click fixed.

2009-07-23 10:49:00 | If the folder is still there and there's files in it (inc the exe file for it) you havent uninstalled it properly . If theres an uninstall file in it run it, close the window . And make sure its not running in the taskbar / in task manager .
Speedy Gonzales (78) | ||
2009-07-23 10:59:00 | Nope says it doesn't have a program associated with it to run the command and I got an error 32 when I pressed on another item. | kako (15110) | |
2009-07-23 11:14:00 | Delete its entries from startup, use ccleaner. Delete its folder/s. Use ccleaner's registry tab, so a scan remove the rest of it. Not much else you can do if it wont uninstall (if its still installed)

| 794552 | 2009-07-23 11:58:00 | Think I am finally rid of it.The uninstall programme finally worked but there were still 3 files left so I deleted them manually. I then ran Glary and fixed up the problems that it showed and this is the latest hijack this scan :) Logfile of Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.2 Scan saved at 10:49:15 p.m., on 23/07/2009 Platform: Windows XP SP3 (WinNT 5.01.2600) MSIE: Internet Explorer v8.00 (8.00.6001.18702) Boot mode: Normal Running processes: C:\WINDOWS\System32\smss.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\winlogon.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\services.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\lsass.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe C:\Program Files\TGTSoft\StyleXP\StyleXPService.exe C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\aswUpdSv.exe C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\ashServ.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\spoolsv.exe c:\program files\common files\logitech\lvmvfm\LVPrcSrv.exe C:\WINDOWS\Explorer.EXE C:\WINDOWS\system32\ctfmon.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\rundll32.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\spool\DRIVERS\W32X86\3\E_S4I3H 2.EXE C:\WINDOWS\system32\RUNDLL32.EXE C:\Program Files\Common Files\Logitech\LComMgr\Communications_Helper.exe C:\Program Files\Logitech\QuickCam10\QuickCam10.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\Logitech\LComMgr\LVComSX.exe C:\PROGRA~1\ALWILS~1\Avast4\ashDisp.exe C:\Program Files\Silicon Image\SiISATARaid\SATARaid.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\nvsvc32.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\pctspk.exe C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Search Enhancement Pack\SeaPort\SeaPort.exe C:\Program Files\stickies\stickies.exe C:\Program Files\WordWeb\wweb32.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\dllhost.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\vssvc.exe C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\ashMaiSv.exe C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\ashWebSv.exe C:\PROGRA~1\Yahoo!\MESSEN~1\YAHOOM~1.EXE C:\WINDOWS\System32\dllhost.exe C:\Program Files\Logitech\QuickCam10\COCIManager.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\wuauclt.exe C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis\HijackThis.exe R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = www.yahoo.com R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = us.rd.yahoo.com R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = go.microsoft.com R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Page_URL = go.microsoft.com R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Search_URL = go.microsoft.com R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = us.rd.yahoo.com R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = go.microsoft.com R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = go.microsoft.com R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchURL,(Default) = us.rd.yahoo.com R3 - URLSearchHook: SHOUTcast Toolbar Search Class - {14f0d511-36a2-41ca-ae01-ba4f87282c97} - C:\Program Files\SHOUTcast Radio Toolbar\shoutcasttb.dll O2 - BHO: AskBar BHO - {201f27d4-3704-41d6-89c1-aa35e39143ed} - C:\Program Files\AskBarDis\bar\bin\askBar.dll O2 - BHO: Windows Live Sign-in Helper - {9030D464-4C02-4ABF-8ECC-5164760863C6} - C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Windows Live\WindowsLiveLogin.dll O2 - BHO: Google Toolbar Helper - {AA58ED58-01DD-4d91-8333-CF10577473F7} - C:\Program Files\Google\Google Toolbar\GoogleToolbar.dll O2 - BHO: Google Toolbar Notifier BHO - {AF69DE43-7D58-4638-B6FA-CE66B5AD205D} - C:\Program Files\Google\GoogleToolbarNotifier\5.1.1309.15642\ swg.dll O2 - BHO: Google Dictionary Compression sdch - {C84D72FE-E17D-4195-BB24-76C02E2E7C4E} - C:\Program Files\Google\Google Toolbar\Component\fastsearch_A8904FB862BD9564.dll O2 - BHO: SHOUTcast Loader - {ccec60fc-2608-4e58-9659-3ffc159e8ea9} - C:\Program Files\SHOUTcast Radio Toolbar\shoutcasttb.dll O3 - Toolbar: Google Toolbar - {2318C2B1-4965-11d4-9B18-009027A5CD4F} - C:\Program Files\Google\Google Toolbar\GoogleToolbar.dll O3 - Toolbar: SHOUTcast Radio Toolbar - {0457331d-8ca6-4f97-9c26-6a9ef2b2dba8} - C:\Program Files\SHOUTcast Radio Toolbar\shoutcasttb.dll O3 - Toolbar: Ask Toolbar - {3041d03e-fd4b-44e0-b742-2d9b88305f98} - C:\Program Files\AskBarDis\bar\bin\askBar.dll O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [EPSON Stylus Photo R210 Series] C:\WINDOWS\System32\spool\DRIVERS\W32X86\3\E_S4I3H 2.EXE /P30 "EPSON Stylus Photo R210 Series" /O6 "USB001" /M "Stylus Photo R210" O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [NvCplDaemon] RUNDLL32.EXE C:\WINDOWS\system32\NvCpl.dll,NvStartup O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [NvMediaCenter] RUNDLL32.EXE C:\WINDOWS\system32\NvMcTray.dll,NvTaskbarInit O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [LogitechCommunicationsManager] "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Logitech\LComMgr\Communications_Helper.exe" O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [LogitechQuickCamRibbon] "C:\Program Files\Logitech\QuickCam10\QuickCam10.exe" /hide O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [LVCOMSX] "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Logitech\LComMgr\LVComSX.exe" O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ avast! ] C:\PROGRA~1\ALWILS~1\Avast4\ashDisp.exe O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [ctfmon.exe] C:\WINDOWS\system32\ctfmon.exe O4 - HKUS\S-1-5-21-1614895754-1177238915-839522115-1007\..\Run: [ctfmon.exe] C:\WINDOWS\system32\ctfmon.exe (User '?')
