2009-07-23 04:55:00 | Where would i get 8gb (2 x 4gb) PC2-5300 DDR2-667 SODIMM RAM from? and how much would it cost? | aidanmaz (7180) | |
2009-07-23 05:01:00 | www.notebookcity.co.nz 2 of them. It says for a MAcbook Pro but don't see why it wouldn't work on another laptop. Blam

2009-08-09 20:45:00 | Hi, I got a Dell which Dell says can go up to 2GB of RAM. I've got 1 x 2GB RAM DDR2, but will it run better with 2 x 1 GB's? And what happens if I load in more than the 2GB of RAM? Cheers | beanie (7346) | |
2009-08-09 22:38:00 | If the sticks are identical 2x1gb will be slightly faster due to Dual Channel but you won't really see the difference. | Blam (54) | |
2009-08-11 23:20:00 | Does the speed of the RAM cause any issues if too high? I got DDR2-800, but unsure how fast the laptop is. How can I find out what speed laptop runs? Running Dell Insperion 6000, and it crashes with new RAM with Blue Screen. | beanie (7346) | |
2009-08-12 00:23:00 | Go to the dell site, search for it and see what the spec are / what kind of ram it takes | Speedy Gonzales (78) | |
2009-08-12 00:28:00 | Just make sure what ever you get you are able to exchange it if needed. Laptops can be fussy about RAM - you cant just throw in any Ol SODIMM RAM in to any laptop and expect it to work - some do some dont, even if it is the correct speed..

Running Dell Insperion 6000, and it crashes with new RAM with Blue Screen. Run www.cpuid.com Or, the BIOS will probably show it. Most laptops 1 year-3 years old use DDR2 667. Newer higher spec ones run DDR2 800, but it should auto underclock if you put in a faster stick of RAM. And +1 to WT's comment, I've found that the same spec'd memory does not always work on the laptop, espec. with some no brands |
