652643 2008-03-28 19:35:00 If enough people get out and vote at the election which will happen this year it may help. But as voters we can't dump List members. We also can't dump State civil servants who give advice to the current members of parliament and I may say future members as the voting goes.

Laws do not mean Justice.

So we go out to vote and then the Parties party to form a government.

So you reckon that when National comes into power everything will change to your ideal believe? I doubt.

National (or whoever) has to face the reality too. Nobody can live in their dream world.

652645 2008-03-29 01:09:00 Welcome to PressF1.

Trust yourself is a good idea. But the question I would now ask you is what do you base your thoughts on? I believe nothing of what I hear and some of what I see. If you believe the news media then were you watching CNN, BBC, SKY, TV1, TV3 and I could go on. So what influenced your decision?

CNN,BBC,SKY, TV1, TV3, is 'the USA Media' in a broad sense, coz the info source is generally from the US or at least from US IDEOLOGY. GO and see sth. from mideast Latin and Asia, like Singapore, u 'll hear new voice that u never heard.

652646 2008-03-29 01:44:00 No, no. I don't believe whoever says what without finding it out myself.

Taiwan & Tibet are both part of China. That is the fact that I strongly believe in. No body in the world can change my view.
Tibet was invaded and taken over in the 50's by China and Taiwan split from China after the communist takeover so in my opinion niether are part of China

652647 2008-03-29 01:50:00 How do you watch the games? On TV? Most of yes.

So not watching TV is going to solve issues in Tibet?

Now supporting the games, are you supporting them by buying items or are you helping our athletes? Either way if you stopped buying weetbix because it supports our athletes, is that going to help Tibet?

The question is boycott the games... how is that going to help?

652648 2008-03-29 01:53:00 Actually I'm going to boycott the Olympics... neither do I want to go or qualify to go. Beijing is full of pollution anyway. dolby digital (5073)

Think whatever you like which will not change the fact and reality that both Tibet & Taiwan are part of China. Whether you like it or not.

according to what i know, b4 1900s, tibet is a part of china (QING DYNASTY),and then was colonized by British. thus for 1950s happening, 'reoccupying' can appropriately describe it.
canard is usually accepted by public. lol

What China says also doesn't change the fact that Taiwan is self-governing, democratic, and upholds human rights. Their recent democratic presidential elections have been praised by leaders around the world - including George Bush saying that Taiwan "is a beacon of democracy to Asia and the world" www.foxnews.com Many other leaders in Europe have echoed the same praises.

"Officially" they are not a soverign state as China has bullied the international community into their 'one-China' line, but most countries recognise their de-facto independence through non-governmental ties. New Zealand does so through their New Zealand Commerce and Industry Office based in Taipei.
