652603 2008-03-27 07:04:00 Families of the dead people?

I meant out of us lot.

But yea, I for one rekon it's a waste of time. Why wait for the games, if people really cared they would have done something by now instead of waiting every 4 years for a bunch of games.

652604 2008-03-27 07:08:00 bk T: You and "The Party" from George Orwell's 1984 sure do think alike....

somebody: I don't know who the hell George Orwell's 1984 (and his "The Party") is and couldn't be bother to find out. So please don't link me to that.

But, let's be just a little fair to other races in this world whether he/she is black, yellow, brown, or white. After all we are all humans. As for the Western medias, they are wearing coloured glasses to look at the world. They are not reporting the true story, they make up stories and report the stories the way they like it. This recent Tibet's incident reported by CNN, BBC and some other Western medias are very good examples. It's time for them to apologise the the World just like RTL & N.TV24 (Germany) did. I respect the Germans - the are brave enough to admit their mistakes and apologised (afterall, who doesn't make mistakes?); unlike the Japanese, who still refuses to apologise for what they did in the 2nd World War!

652605 2008-03-27 07:15:00 George Orwell wrote Animal farm in which the communist party were based on farm animals, the politburo were pigs and the KGB were rabid dogs. The pigs were famously quoted as saying "All animals are equal, but some are more equal than others"

I'm sure you're asking that we all take a balanced look at everything, rather than be one-sided and believing everything the media says. You're asking us to challenge our beliefs and thinking - and that's fine - that's something I'm happy to do, and I'm sure a lot of others are happy to do too.

I'd suggest that you take a good look at yourself, and take a look at the facts. Take a look at the "other side" of the story, not just what Xinhua pumps out of Beijing. Put aside what you were taught by your parents, by your schools, and by the media, and think about the various things you've said. If you read Orwell's novel, you'll find a lot of things in common with what you've been advocating.

Please don't bring in my parents, teachers, etc into this disscussion. I'm in New Zealand and am facing and reading reports from the West everyday, every minute. But, I don't just read and listen to all those reports blindly and take their words for it. Just for your info, I have very little exposure to what you mentioned about Xinhua(?). And most importantly, I have no political stand -just an ordinary New Zealander.

Let's restrict our discussion to the subject matter and no personal attacks.

652608 2008-03-27 10:09:00 You are completely wrong!

Taiwan & Tibet are part of China - internationally recognised.

What a load of BS

It might be internationally recognised in China but not here.

652610 2008-03-27 20:03:00 If:

1. It's loads of BS;
2. It's not recognised in NZ;

Ask our Prime Minister (or Prime Ministers of any other country) to announce those 2 statements publicly.

Let's face the reality.

So where do you get your contraviews from?
And I don't see any personal attacks.

Methinks there's something you are not telling us.
