I remember being warned against tutu as well but can't remember where I learned about it (one of the symptoms of tutin poisoning seems to be memory loss!). My grandmother was a commercial apiarist who ran her own business, but I don't think there is any tutu around the North Canterbury area where she kept her hives. So I doubt I learned it from her. Perhaps it came through tramping club circles, because it is through tramping that I have seen heaps of tutu, particularly in the Urewera Ranges. |
