I have used RMC before & it worked fine for the clips I wanted to grab.

Thanks, but have already tried the first one and it didn't work. And I just noticed it says this further down the site:

Replay Media Catcher does not support Adobe Secure RTMP Measures.

Pretty sure TV3 are using ERTMP, which is a form of DRM. There was an app on Sourceforge that could read ERTMP streams, but they were served with a cease and desist notice and had to remove it. Bloody silly ff you ask me!

Someone will work something out eventually.

794520 2009-07-24 03:38:00 I use DownloadHelper in FF or Orbit Downloader with Grab+/Pro in IE

Both seem to work pretty well

DH in Firefox doesn't even see the stream, and Orbit sees it, but, like all the other ones, can't unencrypt ERTMP :groan:

794522 2009-07-24 04:38:00 I've just managed to grab a flash video of TVNZOnDemand (if that's what you're referring to), by using FireBug to monitor network traffic and find the URL to the .flv file (download.tvnzondemand.co.nz in this case)

It seemed to have downloaded fine, and I can play it in Media Player Classic without any problems.

Thanks for that "somebody" I must give it a try :)

Yup - if TVNZ uses the same techniques for streaming as TV3 (encrypted RTMP), it's impossible to grab them as far as I can tell.

:crying

You can grab TV3 news videos (from 3news.co.nz), but I think TV 3 TVOnDemand uses the same system as they use for TVNZOnDemand.

Hmm, looks like some TVNZOnDemand videos are protected, and some (i.e. the one I used as an example) aren't.
