| 796038 | 2009-07-29 06:34:00 | I have a guy who has Win Xp home, and Office 97, yes I know its old but he just dragged himself off Win 95 not long back so better. He can print from web pages and test page works ok but when printing anything from Office, Word, Excel etc the Printer makes all the right noises then spits out a blank page. It is an Epson Stylus C61, yes I know old but it works for him till now. Word did have another error which I have fixed as well. Have reinstalled the Printer driver, changed the Bios setting to Bi directional, (using Lpt1), cleaned out all temp files etc, tried to uninstall Office but it comes up with an Htmlmarq.ocx error which i have now found a solution for but dont think that is applicable anyway. Deleted Office from the Program files (yes I know i shouldnt) and tried to reinstall, it did but still that Htmlmarq error which is fine. It did install tho Are there some settings in the Printer setup that i have missed, have checked all through but nothing jumps out. Or am I looking in the wrong track and it is actually the Printer itself? Would be interested to hear what anyone thinks on this |

If its got SP2 on it, it looks like this can break that Htmlmarq.ocx file Try what it says here for that error (groups.google.com) |

If you're not going to use the web page features you can do a custom install and choose to not install the Web Authoring tools or use the following technique (not a MS supported one) to modify both .ocx files whose names start with HTMLm in this registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options from .ocx to .old Will do that when i go back tomorrow but dont think it will solve the printing issue? Did use a Disc clean program to clean out... not ccleaner tho http://www.diskcleaner.nl/ seems to work ok. |

| 796041 | 2009-07-29 07:05:00 | Whats it on in the BIOS? Normal, ECP, EPP, or ECP+EPP? And does it say its working in device manager? | Speedy Gonzales (78) | ||
| 796042 | 2009-07-29 07:14:00 | Changed it to Bi-directional after it was on EPP, yes working ok there and detects it once changed, it is working fine except for not with Office.... | turtle63 (9378) | ||
| 796043 | 2009-07-29 07:15:00 | Put it on ECP+EPP if ts an option. It must be bringing up an error or something, after you print from office. If it is, whats that say?? Is the printer the default printer?? If there's programs installed that install a printer driver? | Speedy Gonzales (78) | ||
| 796044 | 2009-07-29 07:17:00 | It was on EPP and not working | turtle63 (9378) | ||
| 796045 | 2009-07-29 07:21:00 | Close all programs office uses, go to add/remove programs, select office 97, and select repair (if its got the option, I cant remember if it does). What SP is installed? | Speedy Gonzales (78) | ||
| 796046 | 2009-07-29 07:36:00 | Becuase of the error it wont uninstall at the mo, that is tomorows job, no option to repair because of the Htmlmarq thing SP2 |
