796033 2009-07-29 05:42:00 I just put my pc together and when I load windows it says my CPU is running at 800 MHz when its meant to be 3.2GHz, what I wanted to know is how do I get it to run at 3.2 GHz like its meant to, without overclocking any of the cores, my specs are
CPU:
products.amd.com

Motherboard:
www.asus.com

RAM:
www.gskill.com

thanks in advance to anyone that can help

796034 2009-07-29 05:58:00 It MAY be issues with the CPU not coming out of power saving mode correctly

Try :Turn off power saving in control panel ('always on'),disable hybernate & standby.
turn off power saving in bios
download AMD(?) CPU drivers from AMD website, download latest m/b drivers: AMD may have newer ones than Asus
set CPU & RAM speeds to auto in bios, check jumpers (if any ) on m/b
Uninstall all the Asus software if you installed any
Check for bios updates for the board

Was this a 'clean' win install, or an existing Win from an older PC/motherboard

796035 2009-07-29 06:01:00 Have you played about , adjusted any of the BIOS settings /

If so , set them back to default, and see what happens.

Also check that you have the latest BIOS in the Motherboard.

796036 2009-07-29 10:40:00 Maybe it is just in low power mode. See here www.anandtech.com where the min speed is 800MHz.

Run cpu-z (google it) and run a stress tester to get it to up the speed.

796037 2009-07-30 01:23:00 Most power saving is a drop from like 9 to 6 of the multiplier.....3.2 to 800 is not a power saving mode, I would imagine the BIOS is reading the CPu wrong and set the wrong FSB SolMiester (139)
