795584 2009-07-29 01:09:00 Get the Antec Skeleton, probably the easiest case for cooling on the market today :banana

Turns out its a very badly laid out 'case', very hard to work with/on. Not what you would expect from looking at it.
techzila (dl.tv) rubbished it on their video podcast.

I'd also avoid screwless cases. They never seem to be as good & I often end up
having to force in screws just to get the HD's & Cards to sit securely

If you cant work a screwdriver, dont open the case

Thermaltake cases can be pretty poor as well. having to remove the CPU fan to install or swap a PSU, on a large case, is unforgivable design.
Also make sure that the longer gaming vid cards will fit (wont in mine)

795585 2009-07-29 03:28:00 Hmm well, the drama continues.

The problem I'm running into is to fit a 120*360mm rad into a case generally requires removing some HDD storage capacity, (Antec 1200) or quite a bit of work to get it mounted right. (Silverstone TJ10)

The Coolermaster ACTS840 (www.coolermaster-usa.com) is designed to fit a 120*360mm rad in the top...I talked to CL and they can whack in a window..

Anyone know any reason why this case would be no good?

Anyone have any thoughts on why this case would be no good?

795587 2009-07-29 05:24:00 You can have my old one. :p

In all seriousness though, this case is looking excellent. Thinking I might make the purchase.

795588 2009-07-30 00:57:00 I just cant see the use of W/C useless you are an extreme clocker..Lets face it, in oder to cool the RAD you will be using fans anyway.....I prefer a good air cooling system, less to go wrong SolMiester (139)
795589 2009-08-27 22:51:00 Still trying to decide about the next case/cooling setup...think I'm going to count my losses and get rid of the water cooling, dump this average thermaltake case and get something (www.computerlounge.co.nz) nice (www.computerlounge.co.nz).

Looking at aftermarket CPU cooling solutions for an I7, at this stage looking at one of these boards, or their offspring probably by the time I get around to doing the upgrade. :p

I've been using primarily water cooling for the last 4 years or so, so I'm rather out of touch when it comes to aftermarket air cooling. What's good these days?

Want it to be quiet, or at least controllable. Looking at something like the following but TBH I really have no idea...any thoughts/info would be much appreciated. :D

795591 2009-08-28 03:12:00 Wrat - I'm kinda lucky with the wind tunnel...so i dont really need a TRUE...trouble with them is they are so big, I get paranoid moving the unit....Lian Lei wheels anyone?....The best coolers now are the direct contact units like the sunbeams....
I guess it will come down to what sort of clock you are comfortable with, and of course waiting for 1156 kits for existing coolers....if you are heading down Lynnfield way!
