796762 2009-07-31 01:19:00 My Vista PC has suddenly started shutting down very slowly. It boots up quickly, and I regularly defrag, use CCleaner and do all the other maintenance that I'm supposed to do.

But now, when I shut down, "Please Wait" flashes quickly on the screen, and then it goes straight back to wallpaper and then sits on the desktop for up to two minutes before it actually shows signs of shutting down.

It's not a huge problem; just annoying. Does anyone have any ideas about how I can fix this, please?

Run>eventvwr>Look for shutdown events.

796765 2009-07-31 06:34:00 I don't know much about the event viewer. I ran it and was a bit stumped by the info I got. What do I do with it, and how do I use it to solve my problem? Webhed (11236)
796766 2009-07-31 06:59:00 Find events relatign to shutdown. Then click it, and paste the stuff here. Blam (54)
