655447 2008-04-03 02:23:00 i find other cultures very interesting, i love watch programs that also show how others may live, but in saying that i do find some Asians annoying, i have asian friends, who are very nice, but the main thing that really really irritates me is being on a ****ty bus (which is bad enough) and having 3 or 4 chinese people screaming when they talk in manderin

Is it really necessary to yell at someone beside you? lol. I lived in malaysia when i was young (We moved to malaysia for my dads job at the time, i am a white kiwi, not that its really relevant lol.) and when we lived there i never heard people yelling at each other in native toungs, but yet, here i hear it all the time.

Strange i suppose the mysteries of moving to new zealand, must be an odor in the air that makes you deaf :B

3 . I don't get the last sentence - the meaning may be lost in translation . Do you mean that some foods are heating and others are cooling? If so, yes, there is an equivalent in earlier European thinking (like 19th Century and earlier), but I am not sure it meant the same thing as it does in contemporary Chinese thinking . I don't think it is part of current Pakeha thinking about food .

I think that is too much of one nutrient and you get an effect .

Like they say hot in their language . That can come via like too much red meats or too much fried foods and you can get things like sore throats . . .

Cold like they call can rebalance the scale . These may include watercress, some type of tea, fruits etc . . .

Dunno what the english equiv . is thou .

Been told that Japanese and Korean drama shows are more soapy and emotional :D. I think western shows are artificial .. like home and away, neighbours, shortland st and the american like grey anatomy and I dunno, I don't watch those .. haha, one tree ...

For the yells. I dunno my aunt does that in HKG :p and then I fire back .. Many asian shows do that too ....

The young western people do it too but where I live yeah sometimes, am I speaking a bit too loud or too excited ... haha and my neighbours are pretty quiet too ...

I do cantonese, cannot do mandarin .. but I understand you, all those high pitch voices ... Its funny, what I was overseas people and not just in Asia and in NZ, people would come up to me and speak japanese, korean, thai, if I am overseas on holiday they think I live there. Then some think other tourists, I use backpackers cos I am able to meet up with others and you establish contacts, some would think from my accent am I Australian or even American or some in NZ will say am I a mixed cos my accent isn't just one type its like a mixture :D On the bus its interesting, cos, from my learnings and travels I can pick out what language they speak and if they speak some kind I understand more I just look out the window and understand what they talking about ... :p

From my travels, I have seen some people who has a classic Malaysian look, but they were Japanese - the more I travel the more I see that stereotypes cross the line.

655450 2008-04-03 03:04:00 You should try and see if it works.Hahah.Im sure you'll get a good asian wife:)haha Funny thing a several years ago... my kids used to play with a couple of Asian neighbour's children. After she learned of my marriage breakup she offered me to marry her sister. She would provide an all expenses paid trip to China to meet the girl, and if I liked her would pay me twenty thousand bucks to marry her and bring her to NZ! Greg (193)

I personally like japanese dramas but not mainland chinese, taiwanese or korean drama

I find that japanese dramas are more emotionally and in the story is more in depth. It has a better story than most english dramas. You should watch a few japanese dramas.I almost cry watching one .hhaha..I was watching a HK drama a few days ago and the female actress die.so sad....

655454 2008-04-03 06:33:00 Ah, pretend cancer for the entertainment of others.

Classy.

Reminds me of Shortland street and their habit of killing off babies for ratings.

655455 2008-04-03 07:38:00 I don't really mind since we are beings of this planet and we should treat other people with respect and keep in mind that all people make mistakes and you can't force them to change their lifestyle its like your stuck with the integration when you like in one spot.
