But they are wrong as Intel has a 80 core test sample cpu of very fast calculations ages ago. Not 8 SPEs only 7. In PS3 will only built processors with one defect SPE. For Games and Linux run 6 SPE because 1 SPE runs in a special mode for the Hypervisor. Indeed an compare based on numbers of the cores is a little bit senseless. Intel and Cell processors have a to different architecture to compare, you should know that as a computer whatever. For a normal desktop system the cell is improper. |

| 655965 | 2008-04-05 03:29:00 | Back to the point though, I made the decision to buy a console instead of a gaming computer and I've never been happier. So what if I don't get 700fps? The games work better, don't have to install, and the console hasn't red-ringed on me yet (it's a 360... fingers crossed). The OS is designed from the bottom up to support the games (~30% of vista crashes are due to faulty nvidia drivers). I use a laptop for most of my day to day computing. The way I see it, I've saved myself heaps of space and also money, and I don't have to worry about keeping up to date for the latest games. Lol@ Insane though. When I get my arse handed to me on a plate I at least have the decency to go into a corner and cry about it. |
