655416 2008-04-02 09:22:00 Once again another flawed poll.

I probably would not got on with Pol Pot but I would think a number of people did like his Father and Mother maybe. Other people just maybe had to get on with him because they had no choice.

It is my choice who I tolerate or not as the case may be but I have never based that on race as such.

So should I tolerate all humans regardless of their behaviour?

Love your local murderer, rapist, wife beater, peadophile, theives and etc?
Personally I think not but that is only my opinion.

There are a number of cultural issues between races that need addressing in my view and the best way is probably to communicate in some way.

655417 2008-04-02 09:23:00 Asian!??? I'm not Asian!!! I'm a banana!
Yellow Skin on the outside with a white culture on the inside! :D

I'd like to give Motormouth Peters a hug and call him uncle.
He's all talk and no action.

As for asian women... need more Watch them at a restaurant sometime. They eat like a horse but don't put on weight

Me on the other hand... I was born and raised in Sth Aucky.
I'm fat as a cat and just as slothy at times :D (Must be all that fried chicken)

What I find really funny is that one of my aunties who can't speak english got the chance in the early 90's / late 80's to get residency in NZ. She turned it down.
Roll on 2008 and she's gonna marry a pakeha who can't speak chinese.

655418 2008-04-02 09:43:00 People are people, I couldn't care less if the face of the nation has different shaped features in 50 years. I would expect it.

I will also note that the Europeans didn't exactly assimilate into Maori culture on arrival, More likely exploited it and then discriminated against it.

Sucks to be a hypocrite aye?

655419 2008-04-02 09:47:00 I have no problems dealing with Chinese people - that IS lucky ;) I see heaps of them at work, and a couple at home too. R2x1 (4628)
655420 2008-04-02 09:57:00 Hmmm 4 people on the poll chose the "I find them intolerable" option. If you're one of them could you explain why? Maybe make another account to protect your original identity?

Anyways I told my mum what I thought on this subject. She called me a traitor. Then I asked her how she would feel if China was overcrowded by New Zealanders. She shivered for a second and went silent. :D

They just annoy me. Don't ask me to justify my unjustified xenophobia.

For an economy to sustain itself, it needs a population of about 6-7 million at least. Don't ask me how I get this figure. It's too long to explain.

It's too long to explain that you just pulled it out of your arse?

Good points there.

655424 2008-04-02 10:32:00 "All generalisations are wrong . Including this one . "

It is far too easy to generalise (and look! I'm going to do it now!)

Individually, I find the Asian people I interact with very pleasant and friendly . But as a group they certainly "stick together" and do not integrate well .

I'm disappointed that my local shopping centre is now overrun with chinese shops: veges, supermarkets, butchers, junk/crap . And in the last ten years, coincidentally with the increase in Chinese immigration to the area, the shopping centre as a whole has become run-down, dirty and smelly .

I, as a European, born in NZ, am now in the minority when I visit that shopping centre .

I don't enjoy shopping there any more (for the reasons stated above) and the next nearest local shopping centre is twice as far to go (and not much better) . . . :(
