655604 2008-04-04 11:01:00 I'd use one of those synthetic fabric paint applicator pads instead of a brush. Result is a smoother finish. Greg (193)
655605 2008-04-04 11:04:00 I use the mere-to-mere thingy bob. You know, the thing you use to spread plaster. So you got a handle and can press down on the carpet. Not the scraper, the other thingy. OK Ill stop now. rob_on_guitar (4196)

I have used these things and they do give a good finish, but still drip - with some paints even more than a brush will.
A snag ?? is that they put on a very thin coat. I know that two thin coats are always better than one thick one - but heck when I am painting skirting boards the last thing I want is to have to do the thing twice.
I doubt that I will ever use one again.

655611 2008-04-05 03:52:00 You are most probably right Tom. As bonzo29 suggested I purchased the plastic strips, which I never knew existed, together with a small brush and it is now a reasonably easy task to complete the job. The skirting boards were varnished so to paint them I had to apply sealer, an undercoat and two top coats. Four times round the room on my hands and knees - grrrhh smithie 38 (6684)
