| 655567 | 2008-04-07 12:08:00 | I had a bit of problem during high school Luckily I had teachers that helped me thru my high school years Sometimes you have to stand up to bullies.I also had alot racism comments when i was at high school I was picked on during my high school years.There was a kid also at intermediate who somehow hated me .I wasn't sure why maybe because I was friend with a scottish person who also was bullied and who also smacked him across the head He was weak of course . I let you know a little secret here. Our intermediate school was a co-ed .This guy came up to me all of a sudden and pull my pants down for no reason at all.I was simply walking half way across the room to sit on my desk as class was getting starting. As soon as he did that.I gave him a punch in the face for doing that.He was suspended.My mum went to the police who contacted the principal who felt it wasn't necessary and wasn't too happy about it I think the principal was mainly concern about the school's reputation than the students studying there The kid got suspended and was not allowed to be enrol at a high school in new plymouth. During my 3rd to 7th form year .All I wanted to do was to be left alone.I had a few friends but they weren't really friends .Whenever I got bully or pushed around they told me to go away and they said to me "don't get us involve".All my friends were born in NZ .Now that I have gotten older I have only have one friend left which I keep in contact while I was at high school.I call him every now and then to check what he is up to.He did help me with some of my assignments so i cherish him and yes he was born in NZ too.European of course. You know... sometimes if you don't show the person your in charge you'll get bully badly. My cousin also was bullied during high school.She was pushed around and finally she couldn't stand it.She wacked her across the head with the fist and she never hassled her ever again. |

As for Indians I have had nothing but bad experiences with them, probably because they didn't own the company WTF? Are we picking on Indians tonight plod? The only people in NZ I've ever had an issue with have been Kiwis especially at school. They never much cared about us being smarter than them and beating them at everything. Funny that. Kept bullying me too, until I beat 2 of them up. Losers. A Kiwi teacher in my first week in NZ at intermediate told me to go back to India. I mean just cos you suck at teaching, its not my fault I beat your older students. |

I mean just cos you suck at teaching, its not my fault I beat your older students. are indians not asians of some sort. I was just stating the fact the 3 indians I have worked with at different jobs, also happen to be the laziest SOB's I have ever met. You seem to be a bit sensitive tonight. Your mentality in your posts sure shows your age and also shows that a lot of immigrants are bullies themselves. |

| 655572 | 2008-04-07 13:23:00 | omg the ignorance displayed in this thread is frightening i go to uni and everyone is cool with everyone, nomatter what colour/origin. then i go to work and it's bloody maoris this and lying japanese that now i come to this thread, and even those who "tolerate" other races seem to be doing just that! tolerating them! what ever happened to treating each other like people regardless of colour/race/religion etc? i don't see where all this comes from sure you get people not assimilating into our culture, being poor drivers and having an accent, but are we whiteys any different overseas? every stereotype i can think of for one ethnic group still applies to all the others. heck i've even seen NZ born kiwi kids speak worse engrish than some immigrants! (and for the post about doing some unholy amount of homework, NZ schooling doesn't even provide that much. all you're doing is alienating yourself from the larger student body and missing out on what is likely to be one of the best experiences of your life. as a successful uni student myself, i'd be lucky to spend more time studying than i do in lectures, and i'm doing '3 assignments and several impending tests at any given moment' engineering ***! uni is mostly designed to fit all withing an 8 hour day as is all of NZ's education system. you can do the extra if you want, but developing social skills and learning how to interact with your peers is equally important if you want to do well in the workforce) |
