655496 2008-04-05 08:40:00 I really doubt they have the high rate for organizing crime.

I have yet to come across news of asians organising crimes.

All I hear in the news are maoris.no offence... causing most of the crimes and murder
You obviously haven't been up to date with Asian crimes.

We Asians don't like attention when we do bad things - many idiots here brag to their rubbish mates when they beat a dairy owner and stole $600 from the cash register, or stole a car in the middle of the night by beating the guy senseless.

Us Asians? We drug traffic/send a hitman to kill the guy who slept with your girlfriend and keep quiet about it! :D

655497 2008-04-05 09:22:00 When I was still at uni ... and this fella had completed, graduated and went back home ... he emailed me or called me, dunno which now - he wanted me to see a Doctor and get some strong prescription drugs and send them to him

I know this (other) fella, he's a PR in NZ .. totally nutcase. He (I think) does other people's assignments to get money. He is a teacher at a training college. Prob not from that, but prob from uni's. He even asked me to do it, so I can get a good supplementary income and said that its priced per grade .. like if I get them an A its more money than say a B etc..

Dunno what he's doing now - he's doing a PhD for what I do not know. Maybe teaching cos companies do not need a PhD even some the policy/research managers don't. Well ...

He was also a nutcase cos he is v shrewed. At one time, he wanted to buy a computer and I think one of the traits of Asian is that they need something that is good - they use that as a status symbol. Yet it has to be cheap. At the time, I just suggested a PC Company PC ... cos they were cheap and told him what parts to get .. but actually he asked me first .. even asking what brand of RAM or floppy drives to get ... :p at the end of the day, he didn't take my advice and got it from a $$$ nationwide dealer in NZ which is somewhat recognised - cannot remember the name now thou. And then he paid like $500-1000 more. Cos at the time I got sick of it .. and we got into a fight. Something like, he told me his wedding plans and then I told his (supposedly) best friend, he congratulated him .. then he got pissed off, and said he is not his friend. I said didn't he help him a lot out .. he said no .. AFAIK he let him stay at his place .. anyway, his best friend asked him if he can stay a night cos he has a early 5/6am flight out at Chch .. he just downplayed the question like .. I ask my wife and I will reply to you 4am and if not ... .... ....

His PC wasn't that great, I dunno what RAM setup it is, the motherboard is builtin video. Not long after he got it .. he complained it was too slow .. I think its just his unreasonable expectations, that nothing is good enof for him. Seriously he use it for the net and playing chess right and he wanted stuff like Geforce cards, plenty of RAM and at the time 21" Sony CRT monitors. One of those who ask/ask but never take your advice .. lol.

The same story with cameras, he wanted an SLR but just couldn't stand the viewfinder. Its like he wanted but didn't want to pay for a $3000 lens. Crap like that ... He would read and read reviews and never be satisfield. At the end of the day, I think its not cos its not good enof, its just a crap photograph.

He is one of those who doesn't know how to cook and stuff .. the wife does that ..

He introduced this girl .. to me .. via MSN .. and you haven't seen me run faster .... .... Thank god MSN has blocking function.

Actually we think their marriage are organised. Both are from Asia, prob family arrange, that's what we think ..

655498 2008-04-05 18:53:00 Where do the majority of the drugs in Auckland come from?

Who are behind organised car theft/blackmarket parts?

Straight from the Police Website (www.police.govt.nz)

Asian Organised Crime

If it doesn't exist why do the Police have a set task force (www.police.govt.nz)to combat it?

Yes.I know there are gangs like the triads and yakuza but have not heard of them causing much problem.Last time I saw on tv that a gang was meantion were the mongrol mob

655499 2008-04-05 20:42:00 Don't forget kidnappings - that's a particularly Asian-specific crime. NZ did not have kidnappings occurring before the 90's.... (unless you count custody battles - where money is generally not the object) johcar (6283)

655501 2008-04-05 22:03:00 I've been here for so many years.I don't see much variety of food

I ask my friend hey, what's for dinner? He says roast

The other friend say um baked potatoes with salad and steak

So the food NZ always eat are

potatoes,kumaras,salad,fries,steak,roast.

Very plain and very boring if you ask me.

No offence.I haven't really been eating NZ cooked food.

I like it how there's more choice overseas.Hmm..I wanna go back soon

OK. Ever tried food cooked in a Hangi? I cook curries from time to time.
Usually sweet curries rather than hot. I cook my own version of "fried rice" using left over lamb from the night before, rice, a couple of eggs, soy sauce, cayenne pepper and etc.

I would ask all "Asians" why they came to New Zealand in the first place.

Did you find conditions in the country of origin intolerable due to politics, inhumane treatment, lack of work or whatever? I am talking about total asia here. Possibly some Asians had no choice and were inserted with their parents. I am talking here about immigrants rather than students on visas BTW.

If you add to that list things like the class system and religious intolerance, you would pretty much sum up the reason most English, Scots, Irish and Welsh migrants came here. Your point being?

655503 2008-04-06 00:04:00 Also the Hangi or Earth oven has been used in just about every culture that managed to reach such an educated state that they were capable of digging a hole and starting a fire.

Aside from the fact every other culture moved on from such primitive forms of cooking its also worth nothing the food is about as bland as you could possibly make it.....short of boiling it in water, which was also a NZ staple.

Well, Rick Stein was on the box last night doing a clambake, which was basically a hole in the ground (the beach), same as a hangi or umu, except he used flat stones, and seaweed instead of fern. He didn't even use baskets - just chucked the clams, lobsters, crabs etc straight on to the seaweed, then covered it in piles more seaweed (no earth cover). All the kaimoana steamed, and everyone raved about it, so maybe it was either: 1) not "as bland as you could possibly make it", or 2) it was "as bland as you could possibly make it" but it suited the English taste, or 3) all the people partaking were Rick Stein's employees, and neither he nor they could be expected to say the food was crap.

Even if its not inhumane - its the lifestyle - better work/life balance, less stress . Better for the children . NZ in particular I think it has a govt support for unemployment and pension - where they are, v limited if any .

My aunt/uncle in HKG lives in a 25m square area apartment or maybe not even that . . ie . , some master bedrooms in NZ can be the size of their whole apartment . 2 bedroom apartment, 2 children lived to mid 20s when they got married .

Maybe better for own business as less competition and less rental .

Younger people not really by in large IMO because they like the lifestyle there, NZ is maybe a bit slow and not able to get many things and that the pay is maybe less in NZ . My cousin in law (Canadian Chinese born) is a English teacher in HKG .

Also that in Asia you are in the action, you could do a long w'end into Korea, Japan or Singapore or Thai and its ok . . but in NZ . . you can't because of the remoteness .
