656148 2008-04-05 07:00:00 Just found out something interesting for those wishing to slipstream SP1 into vista Using vLite.

It Pays to do any slipstreaming on a Vista PC for starters, I tried it on XP using Vlite and there was a warning from vLite the PC could crash while doing this and suggested to use Vista or server 2008 instead --- guess what ? XP Crashed part way through

When you slipstream the Service pack in you have the option to select what version of Vista you use. When finished you can make a bootable DVD with it all ready to go, and it will load as per the Pre SP1 DVD, and allow any version to be selected BUT read on -->>>

WARNING: make sure you select the version you will actually be using, as it does not carry across to the other versions:

EXAMPLE: If you select Vista Home Ultimate to slipstream, and after making the DVD load Ultimate, it works perfectly, But if you did slipstream it as Ultimate, and select Premium when it installs SP1 is no where to be found, same with Basic.

CONCLUSION: If you do installs for people on a regular basis, you may to have to do each version separately and have 3 different DVD's or 4 if you use Business edition as well.
