I have zero idea's how to set up to use two hard drives at once i know how to connect em and stuff don't know how to get the setting, i want to stay on windows XP, is there a way i can use the 2nd hard drive with my 1st without reformatting my current one again cause i have alot of data and dont have an external HDD. Thanks L |

| 797402 | 2009-08-02 07:23:00 | Is it IDE or SATA? All you should need to do if its sata is stick it in your computer, plug it into the motherboard via the SATA cable and thats it. If its IDE then you need to configure this spare HD so that it is in slave mode by setting the jumper settings. Then you attach it to the cable bridging off from your current HD. Once thats done, you boot into XP as normal. Then open disk management(run>diskmgmt.msc) Right Click your new drive>format Select NTFS Click OK. Done. Blam |
