Look on Engadget. There's been 2 a week for the past month being released. Dell has one slated for the latter half of this year.

Mind you, some of them aren't even available in the USA so you could be waiting for some time here in NZ.

657458 2008-04-11 22:21:00 Still cant really compete with the EeePC.. for that kind of price / battery life you're better off getting one of those cheap full-featured Acer laptops from DSE and upgrading the memory on them.. It'd still come out cheaper! Battery life is still a little under 2 hours on the Acer laptops compared with 2.5hrs on those, but you also get a DVD Writer and a larger screen! :D

Plus, stick with the stock standard battery on the EeePC and get a good 3.5 hours. They reckon with a 6-cell EeePC battery you can get around 6.5 -> 7... 7 vs 4.5? If you're going to buy an upgraded battery for your device, which would you prefer?

The EeePC is small, light, long battery life, low-cost, and surprisingly enough for a CPU thats factory underclocked at 630MHz, its FAST!

Its a nice try by HP, but thats all it is, a late attempt to enter the market...

That's the Windows version; the "other one" boots very quickly. ;)

I'll quote you on that 3 months from now ;)

It *might* be the next EeePC from Asus, but as it stands currently the EeePC is at the top of its class and seems to be perched quite nicely there ;)

Time will tell :D

I presume you are in favour of the system that about 72 others use.

I can't understand for the life of me why can't all move to that wonderfully complicated system.
It loads so quickly,thats nice.

657466 2008-04-12 08:36:00 Winderz is too complicated for an old goat like me. I will take the solution that works, rather than the one that is brilliantly marketed.
I am sticking to that story too. :)
