659683 2008-04-17 04:58:00 Well i was opening up a new bank account at a bank(won't name the bank) and i got my atm card and was not required to write an electronic signature with that special pen thing. i did sign my siggy on the a4 paper forms but if they photocopy these signatures from the paper surely it won't be 100% clear because of the photocopiers resolution.

if i was to withdraw some cash from my account at a branch how would the teller know if the correct signature is on the withdrawal slip?

659684 2008-04-17 05:07:00 when i opened my bank account I never had to do an electronic signature but they must have a way of doing it, as once before when withdrawing money I have been asked for ID as my signature must not of been close enough to the one they had. josh2200 (6681)

Do banks still do the withdrawals at a branch thing?

Are you sure they didn't scan it. Also I don't think conventional photocopiers have a resolution, as what is scanned is mre like a vector graphic, and doesn't lose much in quality if you zoom in on it.

Are there still physical banks out there?? I see that ANZ national have just announced they are outsourcing 500 jobs to India.

Bad to hear on a day that F&P announce their 430 or so job losses.

659688 2008-04-17 07:50:00 Do tellers ever look at the signature? My scrawl is probably very different from the sample they got quite a few years ago. Graham L (2)
659689 2008-04-17 10:13:00 If two of my signatures are similar, one is a forgery. R2x1 (4628)
659690 2008-04-17 21:06:00 With any of my ATM cards I have never signed anything electronically
only signed the back of the card with a pen.
With withdrawals I don't think they bother to check the sig.
