658562 2008-04-14 03:37:00 Watching (right at this moment) a show on TV called: 60 Minutes .

It has this wonderful story about a guy who invented a new treatment for cancer that does not harm peripheral cells or organs-tissues, etc . It's taking the medical-oncology world by storm .

Maybe youse guys would like to look in on the link: LINK ( . cbsnews . com/sections/60minutes/main3415 . shtml" target="_blank">www . cbsnews . com)

This is a link to the text story: LINK ( . cbsnews . com/stories/2008/04/10/60minutes/main4006951 . shtml" target="_blank">www . cbsnews . com)

658563 2008-04-14 03:49:00 The guy in the picture of the video (via the text LINK) looks like Dr Kevorkian!! johcar (6283)
658564 2008-04-14 04:00:00 It will have to reduce fuel consumption, heat your house in winter and do the dishes as well before it sells. Just at a guess, selling something is the only motivation for this widget that does the easy bit (as known for many years). Radiotherapy is not quite a new discovery.

I expect shares are available, maybe with a free jar of snake oil thrown in.

Did you actually READ or VIEW the article?

It has been brought to test and so far the results have been remarkable .

They are working with nano-technology to get the metalizing effect into the cancer cells and they are even looking for a way to be able to find the rogue metasticized cancer cells in the rest of the body with the nanites .

The radio freqs are only targeting the cancers and they don't harm the peripheral cells/organs at all once the tumors are found and injected with the metallizing stain .

Johns/Hopkins, the US Naval Medical Facility at Bethesda and Annapolis seem to think it is worth a thorough looking in to and they have given grants and medical licenses to the inventor for his proven effects .

Like I said, they are just trying to get the rogue cancers found and killed as the other cancers all succumb to the treatment in the first application . It works but "they" are just trying to improve upon it for other types of traveling cancers .

658566 2008-04-15 02:31:00 It is old technology in a strange suit of clothes - one can only assume it is a scam, like so many others. Any form of sufficient heating will kill cells, aiming it is the trick.
They haven't achieved zip in that direction yet.

658567 2008-04-15 02:47:00 Well R2x1 might be a little sceptical, nothing wrong with that, but this is certainly an interesting story. I will watch with interests any advances in this research. theother1 (3573)

Actually . . they have . . but I feel you are looking at this from the wrong end of the telescope .

RF can travel anywhere in the body at that freq with impunity . . . like you said it's getting it to the cancer site that counts .

And they've got that going well too .

The nanites they are using migrate to the cancer cell site and just hang around and let the RF destroy them and the cancer at the same time . The nanites are freq responsive and just literally explode under the stimulus .

There is some sortta protein that they attach to the nanites that is attracted to the cancer where it attaches and hangs on and waits .

Good thing that the nanites can't reason WHAT and WHY they are there . . they just sit it out like good little soldiers in parade rest .

This is done either by direct needle (injection) to the cancer site or IV-ing them into the body and letting them congregate at the cancer area . Then RF the little buggers to death .

They kinda generate a cellular non-osmotic thermal or resonant plasmoptosis thing I think . . if my high school biology is remembered well enuff .

<let's see; plasMOLosis is inward pressure and plasMOPtosis is outward pressure . . . I think . Maybe it's just the peripheral damage to the cells from the exploding nanites . >

I did.

A guy with no background in science or medicine-not even a college degree..........
........ if clinical trials pan out-and there's still a long way to go-the Kanzius machine will zap cancer cells all through your body without the need for drugs or surgery and without side effects.

658570 2008-04-15 03:17:00 It is radiotherapy and hoopla. R2x1 (4628)
658571 2008-04-15 03:46:00 I did .

When asked of Thomas Alva Edison if he was discouraged by all the failures he had in trying to create a light bulb that worked for more than a few seconds, he said this: "I have not failed . I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work" .

He was deaf in one ear, not much of a scholar and certainly not well-heeled or schooled . He was a loner but drove a team of "scientists" to near hysteria to get the light to work .

Now . . if Edison could invent something so common, why does it seem to be inferred that a person needs a sheepskin to make progress in the medical establishment too?

The article I saw on 60 Minutes the other night showed the guy with the cancer-killing machine, waiting for it to make the grade for the medical establishment to use it on himself . He has an inoperable cancer . . and if I heard the story correctly, he has passed away now too . . still waiting for a cure .

The two pie pans and a hotdog experiment he did showed that deep thinking and not a degree in engineering were all that was necessary .

Here's an excerpt from Wiki to bolster the apparent success of his machine:

" Main article: Non-invasive RF cancer treatment

To kill cancer cells using Kanzius RF Therapy, cancer cells are first tagged with tiny objects known as nanoparticles, such as SWNTs[1] and GNPs . [5] When the RF (radio frequency) transmitter apparatus exposes the nanoparticles to the radio frequency signal they heat up, destroying the cancer cells, but don't damage healthy cells nearby . [6]

As of 2007-04-23, preliminary research using the Kanzius RF device at the M . D . Anderson Cancer Center in Houston (by Dr . Steven A . Curley, Professor in Surgical Oncology[7][8]) and The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (by Dr . David A . Geller, co-director of the Liver Cancer Center[9]) has shown promising results . If federal approval is granted, testing on human patients would be the next step . [6] [10] [4]

In contrast with currently used radiofrequency ablation where an RF probe (needle) is inserted into or next to a tumor mass, Kanzius' method is noninvasive . [3]

Steven A . Curley, who pioneered the clinical studies that led to FDA approval of radiofrequency ablation to treat unresectable primary and metastatic hepatobiliary malignancies[7], referred to the method as “one of the most exciting developments in years . ”[11]

Kanzius also made it clear that a driving force to coordinate and implement his research was based on seeing cancer-ridden children with little or no hope and desiring to change this for the betterment of all .

The prototype of the device, which was first tested successfully[2] at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center by Klune et al . [2] was built by Kanzius himself in his home . [9]

As of 1st November 2007, preliminary trials with rabbits have turned up a 100% success rate, with the tumors successfully eliminated and the rabbits remaining unharmed"

As for his credentials, they are good and he hasn't been a loafer or dodger in the slightest .

Thank-you, pc .

Yes . . your assessment is correct if I can infer that you too are pleased with his lowly so-called abilities and yet his success:

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . no real medical training,
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . no real scientific board of directors,
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . yet success at what he desired to do .

The human spirit . . . . . when it is directed in a good and benevolent direction .

For the doubters however, I present his official website for general perusal: LINK (http://www . kanziuscancerresearch . com/)

And NO . . . I am not making a cent on this posting . I am just amazed and quite frankly pleased that this has happened . :clap
