798959 2009-08-06 23:38:00 I have the above Adobe product that I used occasionally in XP. I no longer have XP installed and would like to use Photosop with Vista.

Vista will not allow me to load the product and Adobe apparently have no intention to upgrade the product for Vista.

I have no idea how I can use the product and wonder if anyone out there has any ideas or work arounds that might work?

Anyway that I can use XP compatability mode and how do I go about that?

798960 2009-08-06 23:41:00 right click, properties, compatibility, then choose OS GameJunkie (72)
798961 2009-08-06 23:42:00 I think it works? Pretty sure I've installed it before, although there's so much adobe software I might be thinking of a different version.

Try running the setup .exe file as administrator (Right click, run as admin). If you manage to install it, right click, properties, compatibility. You can muck around with the compatibility mode there.

798962 2009-08-07 00:24:00 Try the suggestions above.

XP Compatibility Mode is for Windows 7 only.

You can run a seperate VM if you're *really* desperate.

798963 2009-08-07 00:26:00 Thank you both for that. Photoshop has loaded to Vista and I wonder if I could not originally load the product to Vista because XP was still on my PC and there was a Product rego. number clash.

However, on trying to open Photoshop I have an error "Could not start Photoshop because the Volumne Windows is using for Virtual Memory does not have enough free space".

I have checked the Windows Help and can follow that through but wonder if you have a suggestion as to what I should set the page file size to?

I have a 2.0Ghz AMD Athlon 64. 128k primary memory cache, 512k secondry memory cache and 1024G RAM.

798964 2009-08-07 00:28:00 Right Click your System Drive>Properties>Tick "Compress Files and folders". Click ok. May take up to 3 hrs.

Or Uninstall unneeded programs and/or Upgrade your RAM to 2gb

Then run PS setup again
