798711 2009-08-06 02:46:00 I need audio editing software for a radio doco I'm producing.
What is a good alternative to Pro Tools? Pro Tools LE won't work on my Windows 7 Machine even in XP compatibility mode.I don't have a Mac, I have no intention of buying a mac or dual-booting.
So I would appreciate a Windows compatible solution, and no I havn't got time to set up XP VM.

798712 2009-08-06 02:50:00 I don't suppose you could run it in an XP VM? nofam (9009)

798716 2009-08-06 11:45:00 Not sure if it's suitable for your requirements but Wavosaur (http://www.wavosaur.com/) (224kb, portable freeware), supports VST and is worth a once over. sal (67)
798717 2009-08-06 20:49:00 Goldwave, or all the radio stations I've been to visit use CoolEdit Pro, which is now Adobe Audition :) Chilling_Silence (9)
798718 2009-08-06 21:48:00 Don't bother with Pro Tools unless you want to spend $$$$ on a special soundcard. supersi (8401)
798719 2009-08-06 21:50:00 The radio stations computers that I look after have Adobe Audition CS3 on them (upgraded recently from CoolEdit) All the operators say it's the best thing since sliced bread - a big improvement. fnphoto (2434)
798720 2009-08-07 04:12:00 See, now that two of us say Radio Stations use Adobe Audition, the only thing needed to make that "fact" is for us to put it on Wikipedia ;) Chilling_Silence (9)
