| 798613 | 2009-08-06 00:33:00 | Hi All. Nod 32 as Eset Smart Security Suite 4, has a Firewall included. Would you say that this is the best paid protection available at the moment. NZ$62 per year. For a neighbour who has just gone onto b/b & thinks AVG is all he needs. We are on freeware & have no problems. PJ |

| 798614 | 2009-08-06 00:38:00 | NOD32 with Spybot S&D and Malwarebytes is sufficient IMO. Eset Smart Security is great, as long as the firewall is configured correctly. AVG is crap. |

Prob paying for the AV then getting a separate Firewall, something like Comodo, or Online armor or Sunbelt Personal Firewall ( used to be called something else that I cant remember ) may be a option. Out of interest where did you get NZ$62 per year price for Smart Security. The normal retail for Nod32 Antivirus on its own is more than that Eset pricing (www.chillisoft.co.nz) |

The Smart Security, which has the same Antivirus and Antispyware as the standard NOD32, but includes Anti Spam and Firewall components is $93 + GST, or $104.63, and around $65 to renew. (All 1 user one year pricing). Various resellers might round these prices up or down slightly. |

| 798619 | 2009-08-06 02:58:00 | If you want a good firewall you'd be hard pressed to find one better than Comodo, especially since Comodo is free as well. Even their latest AntiVirus seems to be doing pretty well for itself Combined with integrated Memory firewall (buffer overflow protection) and BOClean it's a very good program I wouldn't pay even for Nod32 now. And I certainly wouldn't get AVG Free. |
