most of those cheap ones your buying are more than likly to be useless. for anything seriously good its going to cost $100 and up.
i've seen plenty of dead applainces that died even with a protector and don't forget a lot of applainces have got their own built in. so basicly double lot of cheap protection didn't do jack.

the real scam of those was the flash looking ones that retailed for hundreds of $$ but had the basic cheap crap inside it.

Yes, but I think they ones they were selling for $100's were ones that you get elsewhere for $10's of dollars. Some of them are also just rebadged.
