| 659839 | 2008-04-17 23:59:00 | Had an insurance claim for a guy who had lost some parts in a power surge issue, I was very pleased to be able to build him replacement bits for his $100 excess, as his circumstances (not financial) were a bit sad............ Anyway all was happy, AMI said payment would take a couple of days. That was 8 days ago. Rang this morning, was forwarded to the Manager who said yes a cheque had been issued. (we won't go into the fact that they had at the time accepted my invoice stating Direct Credit) I pointed out no payment has arrived, in fact no correspondence at all, he said I'd just have to take my word for it, it takes 2 days (should have arrived 14th then). He wasn't interested in following up with ChCh office where its is supposedly issued, I in fact have another customer - same day, same power surge - who have rung to say AMI have approved their new build. I think not. I mentioned this to AMI and I was a bit concerned due to the non-payment of the other and he said if I didn't like it then they just wouldn't deal with me. Huh. I refrained from telling him that no, I wouldn't deal with them more like. He was very arrogant and talked over me the whole time. This is the short version. |

And they were on Fair Go last week, and are on the wall of shame for not showing up to explain themselves. Not a company I would ever use. I always thought they were part of AA insurance, with their similar yellow branding but was surprised to learn they are a totally different company. |

How long did you say you've been waiting? |

| 659844 | 2008-04-18 02:26:00 | Well my 2nd customer who wanted a claim with them came in, so I explained and said I wouldn't be going to because of AMI. They said that was *&^^%$ and rushed round the corner and came back and paid me up front themselves and told me AMI are going to be paying them direct "as they have a lot business through AMI". Ah well, good for them. |

Ah well, good for them. It must be difficult for retailers in that type of situation. As long as you have the contract in writing from the insurance company, and they are a well known one that isn't likely to fold in the current economic situation, you should be ok. |

Ah well, good for them. Hi pctec, it seems that some AMI agency's do have a slack service. My last three dealings with them here in Blenheim have been faultless. I hope they can lift their service in your area! |
