798644 2009-08-06 01:15:00 Hi All.

I am using IE6.
One of the genealogy sites I am using has started asking me to upgrade my browser to access the site. Do i now go to IE7 or is there an 8 version. Will I have problems if I do? Do I need to un-install IE7 first. Thanks. PJ

798645 2009-08-06 01:21:00 Just run Windows Update. It'll update you to IE8 Blam (54)
798646 2009-08-06 01:21:00 Version 8 is the latest, just manually run Windows Updates and and it will download the correct components and install - follow on screen instructions. wainuitech (129)

798652 2009-08-06 01:57:00 I had a PC today where IE8 wasn't in the recommend updates for some reason, wonder if thats whats happened here.

Download and install from here (www.microsoft.com), then reboot, and run windows update again, install all the recommended updates.
