I grabbed the wrong quote - but I like your latest cut . A little out of my personal play list, but it's very balanced, has a good depth and fullness to it - no hollow spots and the bass seems busy enough . Anyone can play lead guitar, but the BASS - now that's the important part! Drum machine? |

| 661823 | 2010-07-20 23:51:00 | Mr. Black - I just got a critique from a guy who plays bass with a very BIG rock group that had their own TV series for a while - any more than that I cannot say - but he says to lose that guitar strap as it looks like an endorsement and the talent seekers won't use that YouTube vid with it in there. People are looking at your stuff. |

Yeah - the strap has a commercial name to it and if the interested people take or show your YouTube vid to anyone, it should not be worn - a nice blank black one would be better . There are fears of having to give credits to someone else if this ever gets to the right people - if you follow me . The US is a hotbed of lawyers and other blood sucking leeches who would make a big deal out of it if someone should 'discover' you and sign you up . A lot of 'personalities' and 'talent' get found on YouTube, so it's prolly best to not have anything that might call for reimbursement of unlicensed advertising on the videos . You look to me to be good enough for an endorsement, but I am not a mover/shaker in the industry . That OTHER guy who shall remain nameless - saw your vid . I might have sent it to him . (I did) I'm proud of you, son! Don't forget that I scrubbed floors and washed plates to send you to guitar school . |

Look at it this way: There's only twelve notes in an octave and I bet they've all been used before too . Add some sharps and flats to the white keys and you see that it's amazing that music is as varied as it is . There's a trend to letting the legal argument stand that if you post something - it's automatically trademarked and yours - for a while anyway . Just try to keep the grinders off your butt and you'll be OK . Oh - and don't let the bedbugs bite . |
