799679 2009-08-13 00:06:00 Did you make sure that you burned it as an image rather than as a file?

Is the gparted CD bootable on other systems?

799680 2009-08-13 05:18:00 I've just used IMG burn and it worked!
Went into gparted and pressed delete when the Xp partition was selected, and then left it, but now when the computer tries to boot, it says DISK BOOT FAILURE INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER. there was still 19 GB of unallocated space when I left gparted, will i have to now make a new partition now with the unallocated space?

799681 2009-08-13 06:40:00 Can Anybody please give me a hand on this? pcuser7895 (12979)
799682 2009-08-13 07:56:00 You'll need to boot into a Windows 7 DVD and then rebuild the bootloader

Or just run the Startup repair GUI.

799683 2009-08-13 08:52:00 How do I rebuild the bootloader? pcuser7895 (12979)
799684 2009-08-13 09:47:00 Just run the startup repair from it. If that does not work then we'll do it manually. Blam (54)
799685 2009-08-13 10:20:00 Which did you install 1st? 7 or XP? XP right? Blam (54)
799686 2009-08-13 21:30:00 yep, I used the CD to run the boot repair utility but now when I go into 7, I see the xp partition, I click on it, it is still there, I now that i gparted I deleted it because there was a whole lot unallocated space after I pressed delete and startewd the operation and that huge lot of unallocated space is exactly the same size as the xp partition was. pcuser7895 (12979)
799687 2009-08-14 00:09:00 Good. Its unallocated.

From gparted expand your 7 partition.

799688 2009-08-14 05:14:00 so now, the information is there, but the partition isn't so if I just expand the win 7 partition, the xp files will be gone? pcuser7895 (12979)
