661732 2009-06-26 20:51:00 That is choice Rob. Awesome.

Edit - Actually you may be able to help here. :p

Looking for an effects pedal/amp modeller, preferably all in one, for under $400. Looking at a 2nd hand Boss GT-6 or Digitech RP350. Would really like a POD X3 Live but thats a little out of the price range. :)

Needs to go straight into a PA (well sound desk, no amp). There seems to be a bit of a toss up between the boss and the digi, each have their fan clubs. I like the solidness of the boss...any ideas on what would be best, or other suggestions?

It would be used mostly in a churchy type enviroment, so theres no big need for it to be too intense, just want basic effects and amp modelling in one unit, or multiple affordable units. Cheers.
Rob: I'm playing with a Crate GFX1200H (img.photobucket.com) on a stack of 4X12's and added on a Duncan Wah Cry Baby and a couple of stomp boxes and I find I can model pretty much anything I want with that set up.

When new, it was less than $400.00USD and I bet used in NZ it would be really cheap.

One thing I like about it is that it breaks up just like a tube amp costing a lot LOT more (Can you say: "Marshall"?) . The highs are a little peaky and high, but with some tuning I can even get a real Carlos Santana sound.

I have driven two-twin stacks at 8-ohm/parallel (1-Crate 8X12 and 1-Marshall 8X12) and even a Peavey 4-ohm 2X10 sideboy cab with it at the same time.

661733 2009-06-26 23:12:00 Thank guys for the comments! Awesome!
Joe: I quite like crate, used them for years, they combo good with mesa boogie. Well anything combos good with mesaboogie hahaha except money.
The problem in nz is everything is exspensive. Its the shipping part that kills. i wanted to buy a wah crybaby original.... $260nz. Screw that. lol I got a couple of amp simulators too by line6 and zoom, both are pretty cool!

If you want/need, I can buy one for you and ship it to "myself" for my personal use when/if I ever get to NZ for that beer Matla owes me.
