661332 2008-04-22 11:54:00 Hi Team

After another lengthy but fruitless search, I again seek the assistance of experts. As above, I want to know how long it takes to fly to New Delhi from Auckland (it is a direct flight I believe) and how many km it is.

No, I am not emigrating, I just want a nice Indian takeaway.

Cheers

661333 2008-04-22 12:01:00 This ? (www.convertunits.com)

The total distance from delhi to auckland is 7,757 miles.

This is equivalent to 12,484 kilometers or 6,741 nautical miles.

And this ? (www.convertunits.com) 15 hrs 31 mins?

Is Delhi the same as New Delhi?

661334 2008-04-22 13:01:00 You're a lucky guy Billy. You'll get some fantastic curries on the streets. Just keep in mind the hygiene of the stalls. Most should be fine as the ingredients usually kill any bacteria. And there's a blimmin good reason why there are so many Indians alive today, so almost whatever you eat should be worth the risk.

Take care when drinking the water though. Even bottled can be suspect.

So as for the street stalls - just take a minute or two to observe a) How busy? (busy = good) And b) any decaying corpses in the locale. And c) While observing, see if you can see the activity in the cooking area, and make up your mind from there.

661336 2008-04-22 13:29:00 Speedy is right (as usual :P:):

Flight time from Delhi to Auckland

The distance from Delhi to Auckland is 7,757 miles or 12,484 kilometers.

A typical flight between Delhi and Auckland would have a flying time of about 15 hours, 31 minutes. This assumes an average flight speed for a commercial airliner of 500 mph, which is equivalent to 805 km/hr or 434 knots. Your exact time may vary depending on wind speeds.

Having flown from here to Delhi via Singapore, its relatively close though it took us 16.5 hours because of strong headwinds. The best curry is found in Bombay btw.

661337 2008-04-22 18:23:00 My friend from Madras is rather scornful of Bombay curry, and that is putting it more politely than she did. (Vaguely along the lines that it is barely fit for keeping rats out of the rubbish bins.) She may be biased. ;) R2x1 (4628)
661338 2008-04-22 19:24:00 Two things Billy,

1. The purpose of curry originally was to cover the taste of meat that had gone off.

2. Have you considered the size of your carbon footprint and will you be planting a couple of trees to cover this?

Ken
