| 799873 | 2009-08-10 02:16:00 | Hi My partner has an HP IPaq RX1955 which when powered on, displays the HP loading screen, but when the progress bar reaches around 60%, the PDA restarts. This loop continues indefinitely. Points to note: 1. We have been unable to locate the AC Adaptor. PDA was purchased years ago in the UK and has since moved to NZ via the US. Adaptor may be somewhere in the house, but can't guarantee it. 2. Currently getting power to the PDA via the USB cable. However, in charging mode, it doesn't seem to be charging (charge light on PDA does noy illuminate). Searching via Google implies that the charge functionality needs to be enabled on the PDA - don't know if it is or not. It may be that the battery is dead and will not hold any charge. Does anybody know about these PDA's or does anybody recognise the symptoms? We will be overseas soon, and may take the opportunity to replace it if it looks like it may be dead, but if there is any chance of reviving it, then we'll give it a go. |

| 799875 | 2009-08-10 03:21:00 | Thanks pctek. I had seen the HP link this morning, but it didn't explain how to do a hard reset. And links I found yesterday suggested that a Hard Reset was "Power Button + press reset with stylus". Your second link gives a different method for hard reset which I will try tonight. May explain why there was no response yesterday :p | Miami Steve (2128) | ||
