663365 2008-04-28 09:22:00 Look for people starving to death?

Unable to get medical care?

Drinking foul water?

Somehow I don't think so, Look all you like, There is a difference between being poor and starving tro death. And all anyone needs to do to not be poor is go get a job.

663368 2008-04-28 09:46:00 Not intending to start an argument on this, but I couldn't help but notice she had 5 (?) kids . . . . Surely people with low incomes must associate financial hardship with the number of mouths they have to feed?

I dare say most of us would be skint if we had to feed & clothe ourselves, our partners and 5 kiddies too?

663369 2008-04-28 09:52:00 and..............ah..........I doubt the definition of poverty includes the ability to purchase 30packs of cigarettes ?

surely that's a luxury and poverty by definition doesn't include luxuries ?

663370 2008-04-28 09:53:00 If I had 5 kids I could retire on the benefit.....

I earn a a wage, I provide for a family of 4, pay a mortgage, run 2 cars etc etc , I stopped smoking as it was a drain on the finances.

In the real world they would know suffering.

663371 2008-04-28 09:53:00 It's election year. Every election year, the beneficiaries jump up and down demanding taxpayers give them more money for being too lazy to get a job. somebody (208)
