| 800977 | 2009-08-14 08:59:00 | I too have Legacy, though haven't explored its huge range of recording options. And mine is still 6. But there is a Legacy Users Group (Google for it) which is similar to this forum, so your questions can be answered from all around the world - probably more relevant than the rootschat one above? It's a join-to-post like this one - also free. The following page from the website you downloaded from may be more immediate help. Check out the FAQs. Edit: Scroll down the page & all is revealed... P,S. I guess this should really be in Chat. Mods? www.legacyfamilytree.com |

| 800979 | 2009-08-14 10:03:00 | In Legacy 7, click "open family file..." (under "File" on the menu bar) - and open the data file from the earlier version of Legacy. The file has a .fdb extension. |

| 800981 | 2009-08-15 05:25:00 | Many thanks. I presume there are no pitfalls to watch for?. Will I still be able to view info in Legacy 6 if necessary?. It depends whether files saved in version 7 has extra "features" not viewable in version 6. So long as you keep back-ups of the original files, you can't go wrong by experimenting. |
