| 800414 | 2009-08-12 21:57:00 | Had to do this a coule of times for customers over the last month - its actually quite easy - but you cant import directly to Outlook from Thunderbird. You cant bring across your calender either. Heres what you do. Make a folder on the desktop - call it ( what ever - transfer) Download and install IMAPsize (www.broobles.com) - locate your original thunderbird store folder, copy EVERYTHING to the transfer folder. Run IMAPsize, Select the mail folders you want to convert in the transfer folder - start the conversion -- Go make a drink - it takes a while if you have lots of mail. Once finished, you will have all the new mail it their own folders. Open outlook Express in the folder you want Eg: Inbox - open the converted folder one at a time - select the .eml files and simply drag and drop into outlook Express blank window. HINT: If you have lots of mail, do it in stages , to many at once crashes OE. Next - export the address book from Thunderbird - Instruction here (www.freeemailtutorials.com) - save it as CSV. Open OE - Open the address book - import the CSV file. Close Outlook Express. NOW open Outlook - File / Import/Export - tell it to Import from Outlook Express. Once happy its all crossed over - open OE and delete the mails ( no point in having two) You will have to re-enter your account Details in Outlook Manually - but thats no big deal. :) Note: This article (www.zimbio.com) is a bit more indepth than what I wrote - but what I wrote is how I did the jobs and it worked perfectly. Note2: DONT compact thunderbird - it only takes longer. |

| 800417 | 2009-08-13 04:35:00 | Its a bit hard to catch me in the office this week - I'm overloaded with work and in and out all day, and only meant to be working till 5pm HA!!! If you cant locate the original mail files, have a read of This article (home.att.net) The problem is more than likely because the folder settings are still hidden. Depending on the OS XP or Vista will depend on how to "unhide" the folders. What OS do you have. Gotta run------- Customers calling. |

| 800419 | 2009-08-13 07:06:00 | Since it didn't auto pick up your Old thunderbird account -- Open the IMAPsize - tools - mbox2eml - navigate to the copied thunderbird files. | wainuitech (129) | ||
