800384 2009-08-12 12:24:00 Hi, is it possible to get Woosh Wireless internet into an Asus eee PC running Linux? We have the regular Woosh modem plus supplementary stick-on-the-window aerial. The modem is presently connected to my office desktop (Windoews XP) via a cable and USB connection.

Woosh doesn't seem to provide drivers for Linux computers. But has a well-tried workaround evolved?

thanks,

(I hope the ethernet adapter cables are not as astronomically priced as they were back then.)

800386 2009-08-12 19:09:00 As per R2x1, if you have an ethernet cable for the modem, then you can just use PPPoE to connect. I do know someone who managed to get Woosh going on Linux using some dodgy 3rd party drivers, although he said it was unreliable and ended up investing in an ethernet cable. somebody (208)

Connect the Woosh modem via ethernet NOT USB.
You then just create the dialler.

800389 2009-08-19 22:16:00 Actually, IIRC you need to "auth" in windows first, doing a first connection, THEN it will work in Linux if you have the USB -> RJ45 cable (Usually costs another $30 or so). :) Chilling_Silence (9)
