800292 2009-08-12 04:11:00 Im trying to install win7 but when i press the space bar to boot from disc the dvd writer is to slow to respond and the computer just carries on as normal booting to the desktop.

I have set my dvd writer in the bios to boot first but still no luck
could somebody help as to what i do to fix this problem.

800293 2009-08-12 04:17:00 Are you going from a reboot, or totally off / start.

Check the Drive with another Bootable CD/DVD to make sure its not the drive.

If it boots OK from another CD, then it could be a faulty burn of W7.

Edit: what on the drive currently ?

800294 2009-08-12 04:22:00 I want to to a fresh install of win7 im running 7 at the moment but need to do a clean install.

When i put other discs in it normally takes about 20 secs to boot from there but the boot up from restart to desktop is so fast it more or less goes past the dvd writer to fast to recognise it.

800295 2009-08-12 04:25:00 If you can try setting the DVD drive to the first and second boot devices and disable everything else. CYaBro (73)
800296 2009-08-12 04:30:00 Just tried all that it's still too fast you can see the dvd writer light come on and as it does it carrys on booting up the desktop.
Disabling the hdd didn't work.

800297 2009-08-12 04:54:00 What Version of W7 are you trying to install - beta / RC or RTM ??

And if its the RTM - (straight to the point) where was it obtained from - that may sound like a awkward question because the only "official" versions of W7 available to the general public are RC.

And Look at the headline
The pirated software advertised a Web site infested with malware gee what a surprise.

RTM was released on Technet & MSDN earlier this week. Could just be for US people, I dont have a subscription :)
