800248 2009-08-11 23:14:00 There is a small issue I clicked on "Help" in Windows to attempt to resolve.

A box appears saying, "Windows cannot open Help and Support because a system service is not running". So far so good, but then:

"To fix this problem, start the service named 'Help and Support'"

So I click on "Help" to learn how to "start the service named 'Help and Support'" (Go back to "A box appears ... " do not pass go)

Any ideas, PF1ers? Is this yet another Windows quirk, or am I being thicker than usual?

PS I resolved the original issue myself anyway.

:banana Thanks Speedy Gonzales - it now works! :clap

BTW I was being a little cynical / flippant.

800251 2009-08-12 01:59:00 I hope you did not previously disable any services using msconfig that may have caused this? Blam (54)

Thanks, but not that I'm aware of. The problem has been around for some time, just that I got around to doing something about it.
