800031 2009-08-10 20:40:00 I meant Installing, not downloading...

C:\program files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\bin\distnoted.exe
How should I fix it so I can install itunes?

Thanks!

800032 2009-08-10 22:13:00 What are you you using? An Ipod or Iphone/Itouch?? You could try this (discussions.apple.com)

What version of Itunes did you install, and are you sure you installed the right version (32 or 64 bit)?

800033 2009-08-10 22:50:00 What OS?

Does the error say just C:\program files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\bin\distnoted.exe

Or Does it have "Error Creating" at the front?

800034 2009-08-11 04:44:00 OMG, didnt realize my laptop is that old.... It's Windows XP home edition 2002.
I dont use ipod or iphone, I just need use itunes to watch some streaming videos people uploaded for my class.
The error box poped up during install itunes 8.2.1.
This is exactly what appeared in the box:
"Error writing to the file: C:\program files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\bin\distnoted.exe"

Thank you both!

800035 2009-08-11 05:36:00 Try the method in the link Speedy posted.

Are there alternatives to use for playing the streaming media?

Such as VLC?

Is SP2/3 installed?

No, the streaming video is called PODCAST, I can only subscribe it from itunes.
I did use speedy's link, but when I installing the supplementary file, it gave me the exactly error box...
I even use Revo uninstalled Itunes and try to install it again, but it didnt work as well...
