No problem....when I was a kid, maybe even when Cicero was a kid :).... all deliveries were by horse and cart...coal, milk, bread etc etc. Horse dung didn't last very long in the road, you would get knocked down in the rush to get to it first to shovel it up for the garden. Everyone had vege gardens, or allotment plots, and during the war everyone "dug for victory".

It was a different world, today it would be said we lived in poverty.

Our chap used to come into house and wash jug if my mother had forgotten.

We do still have the horse and cart today but some people insist on putting the cart before the horse so to speak. :horrified
