I woner how much money the so-called "underfed" spend on booze.

What's just sad is that you're all happy with the level of research you've done to back up your opinion. ie: you all turned on the television. Wow.

Nope, Its called life.

How old are you anyway?

663385 2008-04-28 22:14:00 There are poor people. Wouldn't call her one of them.

Not everyone had the opportunity to get further education and once you are on the dole did you know you aren't allowed to study? DPB beneficiaries can - and get it paid for by WINZ but the unemployed can't.

You are supposed to be available for work at all times. So it becomes a bit of a vicious cycle. You will only get crap jobs paying minimum wage unless you do get some quals. How do you get the chance?

And rents can be pretty high in most major cities - which is where the most jobs are in the first place.

You do the crap job, and the study.

Granted its a hard road for single mums, But most get in their prediciment due to their actions and choices.

Not a lot of virgin births around in this century that I am aware of!

Times are tougher for most and often single Mums are at the bottom of the pecking order. It's the kids I feel for, they had no choice. But there is a limit to how much the hard hit taxpayer (not the government, it's not their money) can continue to pay out for.

I subscribe to the theory of 'Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach him to fish and you feed him for a lifetime'

LOL, Deane, you are such a bleeding heart.......obvious research for me was the fag packet on the table.....the family poverty obviously doesn't reach the cigarette quota.

Why dont you tell us how it is the NZ taxpayers duty to support her smoking habit when she has do go without a meal to feed her kids.

Liberals, great ideas, but only when everyone contributes!
