662950 2008-04-28 21:13:00 Why bother with Sky when you have broadband?
Which you can't compare.

662951 2008-04-28 21:27:00 Its what you get when you have a monopoly situation. Boy, I bet Sky is rubbing its hands for the big HD rip thats coming. They will slug the early adopters as much as they can. Over time I bet they add more HD channels then start compressing the bandwidth. Thats the latest trick overseas, ends up not much better than SD.

...and if they send the signal vie satelite, think of the sqeezing of bandwidth on the other channels to accomodate it.

(am I right?)

Hello ,

Thank you for your email.

Due to time clashes with other LIVE events airing across all three of our sports channels, we were unable to bring this event in LIVE.

As our SkyWatch magazine is a monthly issue, it can go to print up to six weeks in advance. Any amendments received from channels after the print deadline will always be updated via customers EPG (Electronic Programme Guide) and our website.

While we are aware that all sports fans are very passionate about their particular sports, any decision regarding schedules will frustrate some viewers and please others. However we do hope that you enjoy the remainder of our Formula One coverage this season.

Regards

Sounds like a load of bollocks to me.
What was on that was more important than the Formula 1?

Reminds me of the time a couple of years ago Sky were showing the FA Cup Final and didn't show extra time after 90 minutes so they could stick with their scheduled broadcast which, from memory, was something like synchronised swimming or some swimsuit contest.

662955 2008-04-29 11:33:00 In the past when they had live events clashing they simply moved the content to another channel.

Umm hello any one awake at Sky? staring at a card for Fashion tv starting next month on channel 13. Why couldn't it have been shuffled there? with onscreen ticker advertising the fact.

Probably because it was too simple for them to think of doing :D :D

662957 2008-04-30 10:39:00 I totally agree.
Sky is just full of utter garbage and a complete rip-off. You pay your money yet you STILL get ads!

Very much less adverts. than on the old steam TV channels.
I had almost abandoned TV before I got Sky. A vast improvement on quality of programs in my opinion .

Well, yes I spend more time on Broadband than I do on Sky,
Would have to boot the wife off to get on to my choice most of the time!
