Intended or not, their unprovoked attack and eventual killing of an innocent man driven by nothing but greed makes them deserve a severe torturing or death penalty by any means. If anyone kills my mother or anybody else I hold dear, it would be unfortunate for them if I can ever get him in a closed room with me and a pocketknife. |

| 662222 | 2008-04-26 07:53:00 | Why NZ removed death penalty remains a mystery to me. Do you trust our hug 'n' release justice system to get it 100% right so an innocent person didn't get killed??? I sure as hell don't. |

| 662223 | 2008-04-26 07:55:00 | Do you trust our hug 'n' release justice system to get it 100% right so an innocent person didn't get killed??? I sure as hell don't. Of course not. In addition to death penalty being re-introduced, the whole justice system will also have to be reconstructed. As it is now, we're only making a haven for criminals. |

| 662224 | 2008-04-26 08:00:00 | True...but the death penalty is the ambulance at the bottom of the cliff. And the evidence seems to prove the death penalty doesn't work. And neither does it do much good to the poor bastard who got killed. |

| 662225 | 2008-04-26 09:00:00 | Death penalties... I dunno... it's just that it really sucks if some innocent guy got framed and killed. I guess it's not that common but should that happen then what has happened to that person is just as bad a crime as what they were being 'punished' for in the first place. Sentences should of course also be for longer periods of time. What is 7 years for a 'life' sentence? We are counting in mouse years? What if you force these prisoners to do some kind of manual labour therefore making some kind of contribution rather than sitting around in a comfortable cell with underfloor heating, watching some HD content on the LCD TV, eating their free food. As it is, prison sounds more attractive, where instead it should be more like that in Shawshank Redemption with scary guys like Norton, Hadley, and ofcourse the notorious Heywood (or was it Heylin?). |

| 662226 | 2008-04-26 09:04:00 | I know some heavy guys that have aged real fast/badly from a few months in prison, Though I'm all for tougher punishment, No one I know has gone to prison without 5 or 6 attempts at getting in there. As for the death penalty, Its a great idea, even if a couple of innocents get the chop. Though I don't believe in killing children..... . |

Yup, just double tap all of them and get it done with. Imagine how much money we could save through not building prison infrastructure. |

| 662229 | 2008-04-26 15:52:00 | Don't just think financially. We would rid our society of the scum of it. Along it would seem, with a couple of Met's innocents. Ida described how the anguish she lived with on a daily basis turned into despair in 2005 when she learned that one of Colleen’s murderers, Sam Tehei, had received around $90,000 in compensation for alleged mistreatment in prison. “A story had been published about Sam Tehei claiming COMPENSATION, saying his Human Rights had been abused whilst in prison. How DESPICABLE is that! I felt NAUSEATED…I was so SICK. …I needed to speak out to tell someone; this is a sick joke! What about COLLEEN’S HUMAN RIGHTS? He had murdered her. Thereby, depriving her of any RIGHTS at all. It’s so UNJUST!!!!!! From there on, I vowed and declared I would endeavour to FIGHT for my daughter’s RIGHTS and VICTIMS and their families. That was my first huge step into my journey”. |
