You don't have to read the ads but they try to make you watch the TV adds to contunue watching the next section of the program..

662944 2008-04-27 05:52:00 I totally agree.
Sky is just full of utter garbage and a complete rip-off. You pay your money yet you STILL get ads!

Thats what you get with a monopoly. You should contact the commerce commission to complain that you want a better service and some competition in the market, it is what you pay your taxes for.

I wonder how hard it would be to setup a competing pay tv network, piggybacking on sky tvs network, like ISPs do with telecom. The future is however with TV over the interent, but we need the cable investment from the government to ever get that.

662945 2008-04-27 06:08:00 Sky didn't broadcast the 125 race of the recent Portugal Motogp programme. I rang prior to the broadcast to say that their onscreen program schedule for the Motogp was at least an hour too short to cover all races. Waste of time ringing, I should know better by now. I don't watch rugby but I'm guessing it would never happen to a scheduled live game. bellbird (6169)
662946 2008-04-27 10:33:00 The saving grace for me was thanks to some nice unscrupulous motor racing "geeks", I was/am able to watch live coverage on the Internet with Broadband, so from that point of view, SkyNZ can kiss my.......... :D :D Zippity (58)
662947 2008-04-27 12:45:00 And no coverage of the 1st IPL match tonight , they are only showing the one that starts at 2.30a.m.

Odd when it shows this on their website..

"THE Indian Premier League Cricket (IPL) featuring many of the world’s best cricketers runs from April 19 to June 2 with all 59 games LIVE on SKY TV."

662948 2008-04-28 11:03:00 Its what you get when you have a monopoly situation. Boy, I bet Sky is rubbing its hands for the big HD rip thats coming. They will slug the early adopters as much as they can. Over time I bet they add more HD channels then start compressing the bandwidth. Thats the latest trick overseas, ends up not much better than SD. royaloaks (8205)
