Ken

I have tried it out, and it seems to work just as well as 7.5, can't see any problems with it.

The download worked fine but it won't update because I do not have a key.
The FAQ on the site says

In order to extend the license without reinstalling the product, please download the current license file.
If you save it directly in the directory C:\Program Files\Avira AntiVir Personal\, Updates are available again.
I have downloaded the current licence file using Firefox and asked the downloader to open the file. However am told there is no program associated with it. Have done a browse but in the Avira Anti-vir files there is no obvious contender (though have tried a few).

Any suggestions re getting or opening the key file which is hbedv.key ?

Firefox downloader doesn't seem to give you that option Speedy. I had pondered over that for quite a while !

662197 2008-04-27 09:45:00 You cut and paste it or copy it from the folder you downloaded it to

C:\Program Files\Avira AntiVir Personal

It has nothing to do with firefox.

Thanks Speedy - I started looking on the desktop and found it there, then I did a cut and paste. It is currently updating with a big list of files. Seems okay.
