664848 2008-05-01 23:43:00 Do you spend a couple more $$ and purchase a mobile thru vodafone NZ or do you mostly buy parallel mobiles?

They are locking vodafone handsets as of yesterday

664849 2008-05-01 23:50:00 I have got two high end phones off Trademe and never had any problems. I only dealt with sellers with very high feedback (1000+ @100%) on those and a couple of cameras though. Bantu (52)
664850 2008-05-02 00:31:00 Always bought my phones from the local First Mobile store as they give me really good deals as I have known them for years  CYaBro (73)
664851 2008-05-02 01:26:00 Neither. I purchased mine through Dick Smiths. No mention on the packaging that it was a vodafone phone, and it doesn't have the 'live' thing either.

I will however now be buying future ones by parallel import, or will just buy it overseas.

664852 2008-05-02 02:07:00 I've always bought phones/pda from overseas as they have a lot more options for you to choose from than what vodafone sells. SKT174 (1319)
664853 2008-05-02 06:46:00 Neither. I buy mine through Telecom. pcuser42 (130)
664854 2008-05-02 07:05:00 I buy from any company that has the cheapest phone with all the features I want.
Loyalty to a company has gone and there are to rouges on Trademe.

664855 2008-05-02 08:02:00 I have in the past bought fones from both Telecom and Vodafone but if the fone companies are going to lock them then I will buy from parallel importers.. paulw (1826)
664856 2008-05-02 08:12:00 I just buy whatever the cheapest - these days used .. I tend to stick to Nokia. Just so much cheaper.

Other times and last times has been new via overseas on travel without warranty I don't care.... The most recent time was used via TM that was sourced from Singapore - been fine still using now for a good 2yrs +.

664857 2008-05-02 08:21:00 I brought 1 phone through parallelimported.co.nz, piece of crap that turned out to be, but that was my fault, I should have researched a bit more before buying it.

My phone now is a Nokia 2630, brought through Vodafone. Hands down the best phone I have owned.
