| 664139 | 2008-04-30 01:59:00 | This is extremely lame. Shell has just announced a profit of $7.8 billion, and BP $6.6 billion. Thats almost a 50% increase on last year. They are raping us and reaping the profits. It seems every cent a barrel of oil goes up, they raise it 3. There was a Tui Billboard in Richmond (gone now, oddly enough) that said: Don't worry, the oil companies are hurting too. Yeah Right. Thats so true. | 664144 | 2008-04-30 02:23:00 | What really annoys me is that although there is more oil consumption and oil reserves are under pressure and there are the odd strike, storm and terrorist act etc the price of oil per barrell should in no way have gone from $40 to $120 in 2 years. It seems mainly to be as a result of the oil companies profiteering as they can play on all of the above items AND these speculators who buy a tanker full of oil for one price then sell it several times over while it is on the sea. Surely these guys should be stopped. Can't the oil companies buy their own tanker fulls ? and sell it for the same price they bought it for ? |
