801860 2009-08-17 05:58:00 I'm using Word 2003, to design a form that in capturing data, allows respondents to type responses, tick boxes, select options from drop down menus. The only problem is in saving this (I can't even test the functionality).

I have a Padlock icon in the Forms toolbar, but Word will not allow me to click this (and protect the document) - the icon greys out. Tools> Customise> Commands> Forms> Protect Form refreshes the icon, but still will not protect the document.

Tools> Protect Document gives three options: 1) Formatting restrictions - set to minimum. 2) Editing Restrictions - set to allow only filling in of forms (which is what I want). Regardless, 3) Start Enforcement remains greyed out and I can't turn it on, so I'm back to square one.

Can anyone suggest something I have missed here that will allow me to protect the document?
