801720 2009-08-17 00:17:00 Hi all,

I've just installed Avidemux as a video-editing app, and would like the equivalent open source/freeware alternative to Photoshop Elements; is GIMP still good, or are there better tools now?

I realize it probably won't have all the functionality that PE does, but something close would be great!!

801724 2009-08-17 03:29:00 As noted above, I use a mix of paint.net, The Gimp, and photo filtre. kahawai chaser (3545)

801729 2009-08-17 05:42:00 Artweaver is ok for light photo editing - I use it from time to time. Paint.NET is better.

GIMP is good, but it has an unusual UI (for people accustomed to Windows programs), which means it takes some getting used to.
