801630 2009-08-16 08:56:00 Hey guys,

I wanted to burn a DVD for the first time in a long time, Like put movies(.avi) into them. So I got some blank DVD's (DVD-R), but the drive would not read it. I checked my drive it's a DVD multi Recorder R DL, so it should have read right ?. I checked updates and tried different types of DVD, used other programs aside from the crappy one in vista but nothings working. Can someone help me to this?

Am i doing it right by putting .avi files into a DVD-R straight away, any conversion and other technical stuff I have to do to know ?

Thanks in advance

801631 2009-08-16 09:06:00 Does the driver recognise CDs?

Have you tried updating the DVD drives firmware?

I would be inclined to get into the registry

And check on lower and upper.
